I have made no less than four calls to the 1 800 TACO BELL number to try to
get GF info on menu items. I am always promised a return call from a
dietician to respond to my questions. The calls are not returned even
though I have complained about the lack of follow through. They sent me a
customer response survey with a coupon for one free item. I have concluded
that they a) just don't return calls or b) have a policy of refusing to
address gluten content questions.

The customer service people are happy to read the ingredient lists, but I
have been unable to determine the risk of corss contamination of the corn
shells <flour and oats are not listed as ingredients> or the type of
vinegar used in the sauces. The cheese does contain annatto.

I have continued to eat the tostados as annatto and vinegar are both
controversial and cross contamination of shells should be a low percentage
risk. I've had no adverse reactions, but I don't tend to have obvious
symptoms and wouldn't expect any immediate reaction. If anyone has had any
degree of success in communicating with Taco Bell, I'm sure we would all
appreciate any further info that is obtained.
