Hi group. My daughter is going on a two day backpacking/camping trip
with school. In searching the archives for food ideas for her, I came
up with a number of recipes which involve mixing dry ingredients in a
ziplock style plastic bag, then putting them in a pot of boiling water
to cook.

Does this actually work? How is it that the bag doesn't melt? Do you
need a particular brand or special type of bag to ensure that this will
work? I would like to hear back from people who have actually used this
method successfully..

Many thanks, Lynn
