Simply running fast can't damage a processor. However:

Running HOT can damage a processor. Heat from a CPU is typically
dictated by voltage and frequency, and a large factor in the speed
gain in newer CPUs is that techniques have been found for them to use
less power, and so tolerate higher frequencies without melting.
Jacking up the clock frequency means increasing the heat generated
in the CPU, and so your cooling provisions (heatsink, fan, etc.) need
to be up to the task.

CPU vendors/manufacturers will generally not honor warranty claims
if it can be shown that the chip was used outside its prescribed
performance envelope.
