David,
The simplest, cheapest, and easiest solution is to use the BNC connectors
with a thin coax (RG58) cable between them and terminated with 50 ohm
terminators on each
( T ) adapter. The only potential problem is the maximum speed over an RG58
network segment is 10Mbps. I assume you are using Linksys combo cards. If you
are, I know the Max speed on these cards is 10Mbps anyway. RG58 cable is
cheap, easy to get thru walls and attics, and easy to terminate. In my home
network I have 3 PC's connected with RG58, the RG58 goes to a 3Com TP4 Combo
hub and the hub connects two other PC's via Cat5e cables to the 3 PC's
connected via RG58 and the whole thing shares a single Internet connection
via a 3Com Dual Analog 56K Remote Router, WebRamp Firewall 700, and Epson
printer. The speed of the entire network is 10Mbps, but it never "feels slow
or sluggish."
Hope this helps,
Jay Merritt
