Hi Mike,
Thanks for your words of wizdom. First, I woud like to ask for your help in
solving another mystery for me if you can. I do admit to what my wife calls
the "guy thing"-- a total refusal to read directions of any kind, at any
time therefore I do not have a clue as to why my email posting on the
general board--which I think is the one from which you responded--(I
attempted several times to post messages) and each time they came back to me
with error messages and were all scrambled up--how did you even read my
posting? My computer says it was never sent--- not to mention it was
returned. Another oddity is that I keep recieving emails from others on the
Lactose Fee list that are not intended for me --are obviously intended for
the public board, not my peronal account. strange hah. Yours was the first
addressed to meout of a dozen or so. Who knows what i did with my
unwillingness to simple "READ THE DIRECTIONS" as why wife loudly reminds me
far too often for my liking. I do not expect you to do my direction reading
for me, for as a fellow man, that would be unthinkable!! Nevertheless, may
I ask how you went about joining the list--waitl that won't help--I cannot
remember what the heck I did--but do you know if there is a live person whom
I might email for instructions?

I commend you on your self diagnosis, I too was not diagnosed by a doctor--
it was my wife who figured it out and now striktly enforces my diet---she
had no other choice lest she live in a perpetual state of overpowering and
literly deadly gas that seemed to be with my constantly-- like the cloud of
filth that accompanyed the Peanut's character, "Pigpen". She was afraid to
have house guests for fear of an explssion--for I let my condition get THAT
BAD--before I would beleive her diagnosis. Talk about DENAIL---it took me
nearly a year to completely face the truth---I tried everything including
Goats and Sheep cheese along with handfuls of Lactaid tablets, which I damn
near overdoes on before I conceeded to the hopeless truth--oh how I miss my
beloved cheese.

Thank you for the info on a possible connection between lactose intolerance
and those darn shakes--I was begening to think I had epilepsy to add to my
mountain of malidies. I will look for more data in this area and maybe be
lucky enough to find out something that can be done to improve our
condition, and if so I'll be sure to let you know---Til then, my emphathy
goes out to you for we are truly on our own in this world of mindless
test-oriented doctoring--if your condition/symptoms are not in the data bank
and do not show up on a test in the eyes of modern medicine you are
perfectly healthy, Bahh!
Good luck,
Bryan
