Steve Carper ---I haven't specifically considered whey but I avoid all foods
containing it. I'm not familiar with the list of proteins in milk and just
stay away from dairy wherever I can (well, most of the time!). I also
haven't been tested for food allergies. My family doctor probably thinks
it's all in my head so I haven't pushed him to get me to a specialist. After
all the discussion on this listserv about specialists who don't seem to be
up to speed on food allergies, I have concluded it would probably be a waste
of time to go to the one recommended by my family doctor. Since I know how
to avoid the problem, I just watch what I eat. Except of course, for those
times that I forget to check or think I know what's in a particular food!
Thanks for the suggestion.

Don
