Our beagle, Carmie was like this. She did guard duty when my mom set me out
on a blanket in our yard when I was a baby. Whenever I managed to crawl off
the blanket, she would grab me by my pants/diaper and put me back on the
blanket!

hugs to ken... most of us have  been here and it hurts.
