You said that you replaced a non-functional power supply fan with a noisy
fan, and still had problems with a rebooting loop. The problem could be
overheating as you suggested, but it could also be due to ELECTRICAL noise.
Suppose a fan blade is rubbing on the housing - not enough to stop it, just
enough to slow the fan and cause it to draw a heavy current for an instant.
This could be enough to cause multiple resets.
