Thank you to everyone who provided information regarding safe GF places
to eat in the Windsor/Detroit area, as well as stores in the area where
GF products can be purchased. I also had numerous requests from
individuals either living in the area or also visiting the area that I
pass on any info received. Following is a summary of the info I
received:

*********
Swiss Chalet (a chicken and rib place) has GF items on the menu and the
food is good and reasonably priced. They have an ingredient list
provided upon request that indicates which menu items contain gluten.
********
Wendys (the hamburger chain) has some GF items - baked potato, taco
salad, chili
**********
-A store by the name of 'Twin Pines' located at Gateway Plaza, which is
on Dougal Ave.carries a lot of gf products. They have many kinds of
breads, cereals and flours, as well as packaged baked goods. The staff
is quite helpful.
*********
Suggestions were made to contact the Windsor Celiac Association
*********
In the Troy, MI area, a store by the name of 'Good Foods Company' is
located at the intersection of Mapel Rd (15 Mile Rd) and Livernois in
Troy, MI. It is a very good store. Also, next to this store is an
Indian Restaurant call Priya, many of its dishes like Dosa are gluten
free.
*********
-There is a gluten free restaurant in Kitchener, which is about a 3 hour
drive from Windsor on the way to Toronto called 'Peaches'.
*********
-Empress Garden has a staff member who has Celiac (or a relative with
CD) and is helpful when ordering safe gluten-free food. It is a Chinese
style restaurant.
************

Again, thank you to everyone for your notes and support. Take Care, and
stay GF!
