Hello,

This is my first post to the list, but Sandy's post about feeling the
need to eat all the time struck a chord with me. My husband was
diagnosed - biopsy confirmed- with celiac sprue the end of April. With
the help of this list and the archives, Bette Hagman's More from the
Gluten Free Gourmet, info from CSA/USA, and Jax Lowell Peter's book, I
think he's effectively eliminated gluten from his diet. The only
noticeable improvement he has is almost total elimination of gas. One
side effect however, is that he is eating 2 - 3 times what he normally
ate before. This, of course, has resulted in drastic, unwanted, weight
gain. Needless to say, he is frustrated with life! We both know what to
do about weight loss diets, exercise, etc. to now lose this unwanted
weight. What we want to ask the list is what gives with this insatiable
appetite he's developed?

Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for all your support and help in getting us on board quickly with
gluten free living.
