In answer to your question...yes "fresh" caught tuna and salmon are available in the
U.S. at a fairly high price per pound. And unless you are located on a coast (east or
west) the freshness of the fish is definitely in question.
I love salmon fillets and consider them a special treat to be eaten maybe once a week.
Since I've eliminated all animal fats my fish consumption has tripled. In addition to
salmon, I've developed a taste for Rainbow trout, Orange Roughy, Atlantic Perch and
Tilapia. If I suspect I will be somewhere that does not offer foods I can eat I always
carry a can of Boneless Skinless Sardines in Olive oil with me.
