Kathy,

The only odd thing I had happen to me is when I lived in western Colorado
and was an assistant pastor in a small town. Two guys came one day to our
church. I was the speaker that day, for some reason, I can't remember what
it was but we were having some special event that day, and these two guys
came forward. The pastor grew up in this town and although he didn't know
them, he knew how to deal with mountain people, sort of speak. A few days
later, I was with the pastor in his office and he told me that one of those
guys had returned and talked him out of 15 dollars. A week or so later, the
county sheriff's department called me. The officer began talking about when
I was down at the department with Rayburn Cox, the pastor of the church. I
stopped him and told him that I had just moved here, was blind, and I didn't
even know where the department building was. He said, does your pastor have
a beard, wears glasses, and smokes a pipe? I said, no, to all three. The
officer said, something is weird going on here. He asked me again, weren't
you down at our office two days ago. I said no and explained how I couldn't
have been. Later, we discovered these same two guys had picked up
literature from the church and they were using my name and the pastors. I
know that in no way this tops your totally mixed up story of mistaken
identity but it is as close as I can come.

Phil.
