I don't know about that Ken. Alexs nuero-surgeon is
one of the top pediatric nuero-surgeons in the United
States and she has a wonderful bed side manner and is
open to all questions etc be it by email or phone, even
from strangers.Maybe it's because she is a woman???. I
also think it needs to be kept in mind that Jenn is in
Canada and the medical system over there is so much
differant than here in the US.Here if you have the
money or medical insurance there is very little
waiting for most procedures. My understanding is in
Canada there is a huge backlog for any procedure and
it doesn't matter if it's for life threatening
condition or not. It could be this doc is very
frusterated with the system because of how tied his
hands are. I believe Jenn said she had to pay for the
Bacoflen out of pocket because her moms private
insurance wouldn't pay for it nor would the Canadian
socialized medicine system.I've followed Jenns story
for a while now and I hope she gets the pump as much
as anyone. I do believe she has also stated the system
has only enough money to do 10 pumps a year. To the
doc who I'm sure has seen many cases( and the Bpump is
used for MS,spinal cord accidents, TBI etc not just
CP) Jenn may be one of his high functioning patients.
It doesn't excuse his behavior which was indeed more
than rude but it must be frusterating to have the
skills to be able to relieve so many peoples suffering
but not have the resources to do so, especially in a
well off country such as Canada is considered.Jenn,I
really hope this works out well and on the schedule
you want it to. Keep the faith ok?
