Deri,

Firstly, I LOVE Midazolam IV (known as "Versed" in the US). All your
troubles, and pain, just fade way. Lot's of fun because your short term
memory is completely obliterated for six hours or so post-procedure
("What's my name?"..."Kyle"..."Ok".........."What's my name?")

Like you, I had the "snip". Not only that, I had it reversed and then
snipped again. The snipping was a breeze. The un-snipping was nine
hours of procedure and six weeks of the most incredible pain you can
imagine. Sitting on the potty and letting my personality swing in the
breeze made me long for someone to stick bamboo shoots 'neath my
fingernails. I actually begged Laura to have the doctor re-admit me to
the hospital so I could get hooked up to some sort of intravenous
opiate. No dice (lousy schmuck).

This was done at a teaching hospital and the uro-surgeon videotaped the
procedure for classroom study--gave me a copy as a "gift". About six
months later a friend had a "bachelor" party to celebrate his upcoming
wedding. The boys were watching naughty movies on the telly and I
slipped this tape into the stack to be viewed during the evening. At
least ten minutes of video had elapsed before the fellows realized what
they were watching. Want to talk about making strong men weak at the
knees!

<sigh> Good times...gooood times. ;-)

Kyle

Last surgery I had (at 40) was "The Snip" - they put me out cold -
probably a
good thing, 'cos I'd had this recurring dream for the previous week that
I
woke up during the op and everyone was laughing because the surgeon had
joked
about needing more money for doing micro surgery.

Cheers

Deri
