Of course, to get the full benifit of this, you have to be wearing the
official Art Bell tin foil hat for $19.95.

In the mid-90's there was a Ken Burns documentary on PBS called "Empire of
the Air" about 3 giants of the early days of radio: Edwin Armstrong, Lee
DeForrest, and David Sarnoff. It prompted me to read the book of the same
title which I got on tape from NLS.

Armstrong, who is credited with inventing FM, did an experiment in the '30's
or '40's of transmitting a short-wave signal and listening to it several
times as it circled the earth every so many seconds. Maybe obvious today,
but a big deal at the time.

Not quite the same as signals returning from the great beyond after
decades, but still interesting. If you are interested in the early
pioneers of radio, I'd recommend the book.
