I mentioned Jared Diamond in this context.  The matter remains
controversial because many anthropologists believe that the
Boxgrove remains are not typical.  Supposedly, the record is
dominated by the remains of smaller, less dangerous animals until
the "great leap forward" 40 kya.  I'm willing to let them fight
it out.
