Yes, most dogs take to chicken right away. We normally advise chicken
only for a couple of weeks when switching dogs over to raw, to some
extent because the bones are easier to digest on the messed-up enzyme
levels the kibble has caused, but there are some who prefer other
meats, including other poultry, like turkey, duck, ostrich, emu. I
think this also has something to do with the diet of the prey animal.
My boy will not eat cheap Arkansas chicken, or even Foster Farms. He
has to have a better-fed, better colored bird, like the ones from a
local restaurant supplier, or from a free-range or organic farm. But
there's no kind of beef or pork he wouldn't rather have...
Actually, he and I share all the meat, and it's mostly organic or at
least free-ranged.
