There's an option to adjust the placement of the queue point within the
silent area, I think the default is 50%. Try changing this to maybe 75%. I
think you are using a very old version of Goldwave, so your version may not
have this option. I am using version 5.09.

I have a large file that I am trying to split in to
smaller files
using the auto-q and split features. How I get auto-q to put the
mark near the end of the silent area. Now their are bits of sound
from the last cut hanging on to the next cut. If I drop the DB
threshold lower, then I miss some splits where que points aught to be
inserted. I can get to the edit box, but nothing changes no matter
what I type in there.
I have just installed goldwave 1.4 a week or two ago.
Help before I smash my radios in frustration.
