Apparently the newest latest version of the omni that is coming out this 
fall is very into computer control.  I guess you can just plug your radio 
directly into your router or cable modem.  As for why that's another 
subject.  They are also making some sort of remote control unit that will 
plug into the radio and although it won't give you speech I suspect it may 
offer simplified operation over the front panel.  As for the price, however, 
they are definitely not in my budget.

Richard, the last Ten Tec with a speech chip was the Omni 6 Plus.  From then
on they don't offer it on anything which makes it not so good. Ed K7UC
