My Hard Disks Partition Table has been destroyed by some unknown
activity.
yesterday, I was doing some work on my computer(Clereon 400 Mhz, Win Me)
and suddenly my computer hanged up, so I restarted it, but it gave
message that boot disk failuar. So I got boot my computer thru floppy
and checked HD thru Fdisk and other partitioning utilities, while Fdisk
reports no partiotns defined and other utilities report some unsual
partitions. So i got suspicious that it is the same CIH virus(or may be
some variant of CIH) as it was
26th April yesterday.
So now i think my HD's partition table has been destroyed and i want to
restore/recover my data.
My HD(6GB) had 3 primary FAT32 partitions, no extended.
1. 3GB (Win Me)
2. Data
3. Data.
Though i have a good knowledge of all the inside structure of HD and can
edit anything inside HD thru Norton Disk Editor, but still i do not know
that what correct info should be placed in initial sectors of HD to make
correct partition table and also do not know abt any utilities for that.
Info on Frreeware utilities is prefered.
Any help in this regard is appreciated.
