I learned recently that the Lipton foods company has a list of their
products that are gluten/lactose free. Their web page is
http://www.lipton.com/glu-lac.html. They sent me the list by email.
One of their products is the WishBone line of salad dressings. They
included Italian (regular & fatfree) in their list. However, when I went
to the store this weekend, I looked at the regular Italian dressing, and
there were at least two ingredients that we have been avoiding, namely
distilled vinegar and annatto. I wrote to the customer service person (we
are pratically on first name basis now!) and mentioned this. They will run
it past the Brand Manager. This is the reason they didn't want me to just
publish the list on the celiac list....ingredients change and they want to
make sure everything is right. Also, they can keep statistics when they
send out the list themselves, as opposed to my putting it on the celiac
list and then they don't know how many have seen it!
