Our three year old daughter just started preschool and we are having play
dough problems. Kelsey is a big thumb sucker, so I want to be sure I supply
the preschool with safe playdough. I tried the following recipe, which came
out wonderful. After one turn at the play table at preschool, the teachers
were gong crazy because as soon as the children handled it, it turned to
mush, bubble gum consistency and very watery. They could hardly get it off
their hands! It was truly disgusting, yet when it was first made it looked
terrific. Any ideas? Here is the recipe. Please post me back personally
at [log in to unmask] Thanks for your help!Could it be that it should have
been kept refrigerated?

1/2 cup salt
1/2 cup corn starch
1/2 cup rice flour
1 cup water
1 tsp. cooking oil
food coloring

Cook and stir on low heat for 3 minutes until it forms a ball.
