I'm glad you clarified the copyright situation, as I find myself very
enamored of some of the books I'm reading, but have worried about the
legality of quoting them on the net.  I do feel that any reference or quote
someone else makes to a book with valuable information proves a strong
incentive for me to buy the book so as to read the quote in context.
 
I hope authors and publishers feel the same.
