There is still space available at the Gluten-Free Living "How to live a
happy, healthy gluten-free life" conference, " which is being held at
the Hilton San Diego Resort September 5-7 in San Diego,. Here are the
details:

Friday afternoon and evening:

1:00 PM  Welcome address: "The gluten-free life is as good as it gets!"
  Ann Whelan, editor of Gluten-Free Living and a celiac, explains how to
  approach the GF life from a position of strength and proposes a positive
  framework to help make the learning process easier and less challenging.

2: PM   "A basic look at the gluten-free diet."
  Cynthia Kupper, RD, executive director of GIG and a celiac, defines the
  bottom line on gluten-free dieting.

4 pm  "An imaginary tour of the supermarket and health food store."
  Amy Ratner, associate editor of Gluten-Free Living and mother of a
  celiac child, takes the guessing game out of shopping for GF food items.

5 pm   Reception for all featuring a buffett of gluten free delectable food

Cost for the day including sessions and reception: $75

Saturday

7:30 AM GF Breakfast featuring bacon, eggs and potatoes plus an
  assortment of GF bagels, donuts and cereals

9 AM "Living and loving the GF life".
  Danna Korn, author and mother of a celiac child, opens the meeting with
  positive tips for everyone.

9:30 AM "Everything you wanted to know about CD....but were afraid to ask
  Alessio Fasano, MD, the most riviting speaker on the celiac circuit,
  offers the best grounding on gluten-free living you can get anywhere
  from anyone.

11:30 AM  "How to make sure your prescriptions are gluten free.
  Margaret Fowler, a pharmacist who follows the GF diet, takes the fear
  out of ordering prescriptions.

12:30 PM GF lunch featuring corn tortillas fajitas with all the
  trimmings plus brownies and other GF treats for dessert.

2:00 PM - 4:00 PM:  Choice of 2 workshop sessions:

Session 1
  A:  Carol Fenster on "How to bake with GF grains and love the result."
  B: Danna Korn on "How to sanely raise happy, healthy GF children."
  C. Amy Ratner on "Deciphering labels and chasing down processors."

Sesson 2
  A:  Carol Fenster on "Dishing it up in a GF kitchen."
  B:  Cynthia Kupper on "How to handle CD and IDDM"
  C:  Danna Korn on "How to make doctors love CD"

4:00 PM  Panel Discussion: Participants ask the questions.

6:30 PM: Beach Bash Buffet featuring an array of GF foods plus a dessert
   to die for.

Sunday

7:30 AM  GF breakfast featuring southwestern style eggs, pancakes, and
  potates

9:00 Am  "Living well without wheat"
  Carol Fenster describes her journey to a wheat-free world and
  demonstrates why she is an inspiration to all.

9:30  "Vinegar and other GF mysteries"
  Ann Whelan straightens out some common so-called controversies.

10:30  "Getting down to brass tacks"
  Panel discussion reviewing the basics, answering qurestions and a few
  last words of encouragement.

Noon: Optional chat with the Hilton chef and tour of the hotel kitchen
