This is correct, to make Jaws speak when you turn on your computer, you
need to check Start Jaws at Log-On Screen, which is in Options > Basics
> Automatically Start Jaws. But I think your mileage may vary.
For the last couple of years, what Jaws does on the log-on screen is
buggy. On my desktop, Jaws has been good about speaking on the log-on
screen as I expect. On my laptop and on my pocket, Jaws tends not to
speak on the log-on screen. I often (maybe two out of three times) have
to use Narrator to log in. This happens even when all devices are
running the same version of Windows and the same version of Jaws.
