At the 1999 "Technology and Persons With Disabilities" conference held in
Los Angeles, California, Microsoft Enable Productions debuted "Enable:
People with Disabilities and Computers," a new documentary video on people
with disabilities and how they use technology in their lives. The video
features The Flying Karamazov Brothers and profiles a diverse array of
individuals who narrate their own stories.

Intended for distribution to a mainstream audience, Microsoft Enable
Productions produced this video to help change public attitudes towards
people with disabilities. Although technology plays a critical role in the
lives of all the participants, at the film's conclusion, there is general
acknowledgement that the "bottom line" is a fundamental change in society's
attitude towards people with disabilities. Otherwise, "none of it
[technological advances] will matter," said one man.

The video is closed captioned and also includes descriptive narration for
the visually impaired. This video is also available in text format
(text-video) for viewing by deaf-blind individuals or individuals unable to
view or follow the visual content. The Enable video may be copied in its
entirety for educational uses.

Feedback is welcome and may be directed to Microsoft Enable Productions:
