Hi all,

Just got this from Bob, at Carolina Road software, who makes Jarte!

What news this is!!!

As you all know, I had problems in the past with Word 2007, skipping
pages, so I uninstalled Word 2007. Since then, I had no idea using word
pad, what page I was on in a document. But thanks to Bob at Carolina
Road software, a user can find out what page they're on in a document,
using Jarte. I just tried it, and it works fantastically!

Here's his answer to my question!

see below,

Harry

Hi Harry,

I'm glad you are enjoying Jarte!

Page numbering is provided in Jarte's status bar, so if your screen
reader can recognize a Windows standard status bar then it should see
one of the status bar's fields will read something like?"Page 5 of 10".
You can also display the current page number and total number of pages
by going to /Tools > Word Count/?(or just press Ctrl+M).

You are correct, if you go to a page number that does not exist in a
document, then Jarte is designed to simply?move to the last page of the
document, rather than display an error message.

I hope that helps.

Hi there,

I cannot thank you all enough for JARTE!!!

I've now been able to read .docx files that I would have never been able
to read again, through your program, thank you so much!!!!

I'm a blind user here, and I cannot thank you enough for screen reader
mode, because I can read the menus!!!

Now my questions are:

1. can Jarte give page numbers? I just opened a document that has many
pages, but as I down arrowed through the document, it did not speak page
numbers.

I have no interest in any other new features, because like you folks, I
don't want a bloated program, but reading page numbers is huge, for many
people.

2. When I did a go to page and erased the number 1, which is the default
number, and typed a number of a page, no matter what number I typed, it
took me there. I could type 1000 and it would take me to the end of the
document, and I know there is not 1000 pages in the document. I would
think that Jarte would tell me "that page number does not exist", or,
"this document does not have 1000 pages in it"

So whatever help you can give me for these 2 questions, I sure
appreciate it!

Harry
