Eileen,

It may be helpful not to focus on this so much as a product, i.e. an
accessible book but rather a societal transformation.  Widespread
availability of books in machine readable format will likely come about
when people get sold on the idea of searchable and downloadable digital
books.  Clearly this is a transitional project.
