Advanced Braille Technology Now More Affordable

Corvallis, Oregon March 17, 2003 - ViewPlus® Technologies today announced
the release of three cutting edge braille embossers the Tiger Max, Tiger
Cub, and Tiger
Cub Jr. These new devices are designed to create cost-effective options
for converting
visual information into raised media that can be understood by touch
whether that be text
made into braille or visual images transferred into tactile graphics.

In March 2002, ViewPlus® Technologies released the first braille embosser
capable of translating complex visual images into 3-D tactile graphics.
Previously,
this technology has been available almost exclusively at universities and
larger
institutions; but now it has been incorporated into three new embossers
that are priced to fit
smaller schools and others who create braille materials on a limited budget.

The new Tiger Max, Tiger Cub, and Tiger Cub Jr. embossers will make Tiger
Embosser technology available to more people. Now any computer
information used to
teach sighted students can also be embossed directly to one of the Tiger
Embossers. Blind students who study math, engineering, geography, and
other subjects that require access
to diagrams and other graphic images can get exactly the same information
as their sighted
peers.

"Braille embossers have existed for more than 30 years, but have progressed
little until Tiger Embosser technology was originally introduced in 1996,"
says
ViewPlus® Founder and President John Gardner. "Tiger Embossers work with
mainstream software
like MS Office so anyone who can use a computer can make the sophisticated
tactile materials
required by today's blind students and professionals."

Tiger Embossers can make more braille and tactile information available
more easily now for a price anyone can afford.

More about Tiger Technology
Advanced features on the Tiger Embosser line include: Windows®
compatibility, tactile graphic resolution four times greater than any other
embosser, 3-D graphics
capability, reduced extraneous sound, full featured intuitive user
interface, ability
to emboss on various types of media (cut sheet and tractor), double-sided
braille and more!
