I've written steve privately but since we all seem to have this problem from
time to time here's my experience.  When you write to [log in to unmask]
they'll send you an E-mail with a link to follow to choose a new password.
When you get to that page you have to enter your new password twice.
Incidentally, I've always just entered the same password I've always used
and it's accepted it with no problem.  You then *must* proceed down the page
to a link which says something like, "Continue" or "enter".  That's the part
i kept forgetting to do.  That'll take you to the main NYTimes page.

I am having the same nytimes problem.  I did get one response from the
address: "[log in to unmask]" but the suggested procedure resulted in
ending up at the same sign in screen.  Two further  inquiries to the
"forgot" address have resulted in form replies promising contact within
one business day, but this has not occurred.  I just sent them a third
request.  Good luck.
