I am using Windows 7 64-bit on a Fujitsu laptop. I set up Windows Speech Recognition with System Access this morning, and training went well.
However, every time I try to start Windows Speech Recognition, I hear a tone, but it doesn't work. I went to my System Tray, and found a "Speech Recognition" button. Pressing Enter on this button does nothing.
Right-clicking this button brings up several choices. The first three are:
On: Listen to everything I say
Sleep: Listen only for "start listening"
Off: Do not listen to anything I say
The "Off" option is checked. I pressed Enter on the Sleep option, and nothing happens. It should be noted that the first time I did this, I did get a "Speech Recognition Error" that told me to restart speech recognition.
Any ideas as to what is going on here and how it might be fixed? Your thoughts are appreciated.
