"Having just received my Win98 Second Edition CD from MS, I ran my virus
checker, Ctrl-Alt-Del the programs in the background and then tried to
run the setup from the CD. As expected, it first checked my C drive and
then D drive and then gave me a SU0168 error telling me that my operating
system cannot be updated with this program that I needed a
later program (presumingly Win98 SE?)."
It is not clear to me from above what is happening, but I would suggest
inserting boot disk and trying to install from boot disk prompts.
