Hi Marilyn,
Some of your choices are (in no particular order):
AVG http://free.grisoft.com/
Avast http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html
PCTools http://www.pctools.com/free-antivirus/
Avira http://www.free-av.com/
ClamWin http://www.clamwin.com/
Comodo http://antivirus.comodo.com/
BitDefender
http://www.bitdefender.com/PRODUCT-14-en--BitDefender-8-Free-Edition.html
Integrator
http://www.handybits.com/vsi.htm
You can install more than one AntiVirus program, but ONLY allow
ONE to run at startup. The others can be used as on demand scanners if
you so desire :-).So make sure no more than one is running for protection.
You can use the integrator to choose which one to use for the scans.
Or just pick them from your programs menu.
My personal choice is Avira. It has one of the best detection rates
and is light on resource usage.
I'm sure others will have their favorites as well.
Peter.
