I have re-built a computer for a customer. The only thing from the
old computer is the sound-CD-ROM combo (CD won't work without it),
floppy drive, and Hard drive.
Instead of formatting and doing a fresh install, I installed
windows into a new folder. Most of the programs are so old, all I
had to do was move the shortcuts into the new start menu.
It took me 4 hours this morning to get both the sound card and
modem to work at the same time, not a process I want to repeat.
Internet explorer works fine, I can connect to the internet fine.
BUT when I try to run Internet Mail, I get the following message.
Internet Mail
Unable to start the application. One of the required components
may be busy. Please retry.
Only Explorer and systray are running. I have uninstalled , and
re-installed both IE 3.02 and Internet mail, deleted the old
shortcut, and repeated the install to no avail. Neither can I
access the mail program from inside IE.
I don't want to install Outlook Express.... it tool these ladies
3 lessons, and explicit written instructions before they could
figure out how to use Internet Mail
