You don't say how you are formatting, from diskette, with what
version, but under win9x you have to have himem.sys loaded to format,
at least for fat32. Include himem.sys on your diskette, and add
device=a:\himem.sys to your config.sys file.

I have just tried to Format my sons compoyor P133 1.95 GB Hard Drive and
I receive the message
 "Checking existing disk format Recording current bad clusters 7%
completed insufficient memory " I removed all his programs to free up
disk space but still receive the same message ,any ideas
