I just bought a new Visioneer 7600 USB scanner and cannot get it to
scan (freezes up with" fatal exception occurred at 0028:FF015FC in
vxd pmxscan (01) + 00001EBC". A replacement scanner they sent does the
same thing; checked USB ports using Intel's diagnostic utility from
their website, reinstalled drivers (which are current),i.e., I've
installed
many a scanner. Reports of problems from USB scanners are starting to
hit the newsgroups. Has anyone successfully installed a USB Visioneer
scanner 3100, 7600 etc. to ANY windows 98 Pentium II PC? No one
on alt.computers. peripherals.scanners nor Visioneer know the answer. So
much for USB.......
