it appears the mobo supports 2x AGP.

Your card will work but you will not reap the benefits of 4x AGP ...the
cards are backwards compatible. But some 4x AGP mobo slots will not accept
2X cards because the additional power required by some 4X AGP makes the
slots different. So it would be safer to stick with the 2X AGP

Subject: [PCBUILD] AGP support on motherboard

Hello

Please help. I am going to buy a new video card but I don't know whether my
motherboard supports 4x AGP or not. My mobo is a Gigabyte GA-7IXE4 socket A
and the chipset is AMD 750 (AMD 751 PCI/AGP controller). I have the mobo
manual but it does not specify which AGP (2x or 4x) it supports. How can I
tell? Please help.

Also, if it turns out that the mobo supports only 2x AGP, is it better to
buy a 2x AGP vga card or a 4x AGP vga card?
