I went to my local Big-giant "Great Buy" electronics store and got a 2.5"
USB hard drive enclosure for my old laptop's hard drive. Plugs right in!

You shouldn't have any problems and you can also find these enclosures at
your favorite online merchant such as tigerdirect, etc. for around 30 - $50.
Also, for under $15 you can shop for a 3.5 to 2.5 conversion adapter which
will allow you to connect to your desktop computer's IDE cable/power.

hope this helps.

Subject: [PCBUILD] Hard Drive

I had an HP laptop computer whose mother board died and I have removed the
hard drive and am trying to figure out how to read it. I have a couple of
things I would like to recover. It is a Hitachi, Model #HTS428060F9AT00.
The attaching end has 22 female pin openings and a 4 pin male device on the
side. Do I have a chance in Hell?
