Hi all,
 Thanks to Larry Fisk, the problem is solved. It was due to 
Norton Utilities which was saving all my deleted files.

 But, I've got a doubt. If Norton is saving them, they must be 
somewhere on the disk. But, I selected options for 'show all 
files' and 'show all OS files', selected all the files in my drive 
and looked at their properties. The total size shown is less 
than what the OS was showing. So, my question is, why aren't 
the files saved by Norton being counted?
