What is the problem with display adapter?  Can she see the picture on the monitor ok?  I've often found that even though device manager may see a problem (the yellow exclamation), if the hardware is working fine, it's best not to worry too much about it.  For example, a "standard serial mouse" is often installed with win95, even if you install it with a PS/2 mouse in place.  It may or may not be removable.
Also, removing the SuperVGA entry is almost certainly the right move, as it is a very generic driver.  Try removing it again if it bothers her, leave the trident alone.
