I have a REALLY important question I need help with. I am getting a new
computer with a CD-RW drive and I am wondering a few things:

1)Can you record audio CDs on a CD-RW disc and will they play in any
standard CD player?
answer: typically, you cannot get an audio CD player to read a CD-RW disk
(you can with a CD-R disk; however)

2)Can you record audio CDs on a CD-R disc from a CD-RW drive and will they
play in any standard CD player?

answer: yes...however, many older CD players don't fair well. Buy quality
CD-R's and you have
better results ... beware of the CD-A (a recordable CD media ONLY for CD
audio burners ... unlike CD-R(w) that you might find in a computer

3)Can you download MP3's and burn them onto CDs with a CD-RW drive?

answer: yes. Keep in mind that the "shareware" CD burning software that
comes with the drive oftentimes will not convert the MP3 to CDaudio format
while a full version program like Nero or
Adaptec 4.0 will burn/convert on the fly

4)Can you backup data, like save files, onto CD-RW discs?
answer: yes
