I recently needed to transfer some data between two machines. My
first choice was LapLink, but they've dropped DOS support from their
current version.
My second choice was Norton's PCanywhere32. Comes with a parallel
cable -- great, all-in-one package. Nowhere on the outside does it
point out that their parallel support works only under Win32 that is
not NT. i.e., The free cable is only usable if both machines are
running Windows 9x. Back to the store for a serial cable....
