I have to agree with Michele that BIOS flashing is not for the fainthearted.
But this is only because the instructions are invariably written in
'Confusialese', a specially incomprehensible geek language.

There is a HUGE amount of information on the Net. But I reckon that only
about 5% of it is written in a way that the average person can easily
understand.

From: "joseph marty" Subject: Re: [PCBUILD] Bios Flash Update D1170 M/B

> If you have the mobo's flash update program it is nearly impossible to
screw up unless you have a power failure during the flash. Presumably you
created a floppy using the downloaded flash update program. If so, it's
just like trying to start your computer using a startup disk. The flash
program usually creates a bootable disk with the flash program added. It's
just a matter of following the instructions and pressing enter when asked to
do so. Turn your computer off, load the floppy in your A:\ drive and crank
'er up. Follow on screen instructions.

just need some reassurance as to what I should do next.
