Jose,

Windows does not keep an initialization string for the modem. It is not
something that is "initialized" when you first start the PC, but each time
you start using the modem.

Each individual application (including DUN) has it's own init string. In
general, there should be a menu option for SETTINGS and within it there
should be an option called MODEM, from here you will just have to "poke
around" on the tabs
but it will probably be called CONNECTION or CONFIGURATION.

For Dial Up Networking: Open MY COMPUTER --> DUN --> then right-click on
your connection and select PROPERTIES. Now click the CONFIGURE button on
the GENERAL tab. In the new window, click CONNECTIONS and then the ADVANCED
button. Now you will see an area titled EXTRA SETTINGS.

DUN sends TWO init strings to the modem. First, it's own default string and
then anything you place into the extra settings. So in effect, your extra
settings will override any of the default settings -- but not totally
replace the ENTIRE default string. (In other words, it will only change
what you have added leaving everthing else alone.)

The initialization string is sent each time you access the modem to use it
