I bought a nice USB wireless NIC which requires Windows 2000/XP and am ready to install it in my laptop. The manual says to have my Windows disk ready because it may need some files from the Windows disk. Or, it states, the required files may be on my laptop in: C:Windows\options\cabs. My \Cabs folder is empty and I would like to copy the appropriate files from my WinXPSP2 CD to the CAB folder on my laptop. I spend a lot of time away from my home and don't pack any Windows disks when I go. I have found instructions on how to do this for Win 9x but not Win XP. Is this still done with Win XP and, if so, how would I do it? Thank you.
