  In order to understand what is happening, we need a bit more information.

  Can you find a model number on the router?  LinkSys has made various 
products over the years with different capabitilies.

  The router has at least two physical ports on it -- depending on the 
model, it could be as many as 9.  The DSL and the desktop system are plugged 
into two of them -- can you find leabels that tell us which two?

  Has it ever worked?  If so, did you move or change anything recently?
