JC,
        The recovery disk should partition and format the Hard disk for you.  I
have seen this on oth HP and Compaq computers.  Although if the drive
came partitoned form Hp and that is not what you wanted. then, I think if
you run the recovery it will repartition the drive undoing the work you
just did.
