All of these are things that should, generally speaking, speed up
processing. Disabling them is unlikely to help.
[Determining where a performance bottleneck is occurring -- "de-slugging"
-- can be quite challenging. Probably your best bet is to invest in a
diagnostic/benchmark utility [I used to like WinCheckIt, but it didn't
like my Cyrix CPU, and I haven't tried it on AMD...], so you can measure
actual performance, and see the effect that different "tweaks" have.]
Personally, I suspect that being used to PII speeds will turn out to
be the main problem.
