Rob,

Concerning the boot problem with your rebuilt system from
old parts.. Did the system run Windows 95 OK? or did it
only run win 3.11?

My guess would be something in the bios. Does it have a
flash bios? Can you flash it with an upgraded bios?

I currently run a P5 166 and I am running win 95 and have
no problems.

Just a guess on my part! But I am guessing that it could
be in the BIOS. If the floppy works find at all other times
and you get a change in colors when you boot. It leads me
towards the BIOS. You did not specify whether the Video card
was ISA or PCI or whether it was AGP.

But it still would make me want to look at the BIOS.

Larry
