That's actually resolution. On an LCD screen, good dot pitch is anywhere
from .27 to .29.

My best suggestion is to go to someplace like Circuit City or CompUSA and
just *look* at the ones you like. A more important measurement is the
contrast ratio and the higher the better, 400:1 or higher.

If you get an LCD screen, I would recommend getting one with a DVI port and
getting a video card that supports DVI. The picture is *that* much better.
My DVI cable cost me about 80 bucks, though.

18-inch is sort of on the border. Probably will have a native resolution of
1280x1024. I would not accept 1024x768 on an 18-inch. My choice would be to
have 1600x1200 (which I have on my 20-inch monitor), but it might make the
windows a bit too small for most tastes.
